Christine McCaul

Vivarium Director

Christine joined the University in 2013 with over 16 years' experience in laboratory animal research. She graduated from the Veterinary Technology Program at St. Lawrence College in 1997, and pursued a diverse range of career endeavours in both private and public sectors. Christine is also a graduate of the Medical Laboratory Technician program at Mohawk College, in collaboration with the Michener Institute. 


Christine's role as Vivarium Director of the Biological Sciences Facility has allowed her to pursue a complex and unique profession, enabling her to enjoy her passion for animals, while working through everyday challenges, networking with staff and research personnel, and developing facility operations. 


To broaden her understanding and experience in facility management, Christine has completed the Managers Academy Program at UofT, in addition to graduating from the Institute of Laboratory Animal Management program through the American Association of Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS). She strives to enhance the quality management and care of laboratory animals, while recognizing the remarkable animal care staff, which are vital in achieving those goals.
